CHASE The pillow wall was hilarious in theory. In practice, it was a joke. Seven pillows stacked like a soft barricade down the middle of the queen bed—neutral territory in a war nobody had officially declared. I lay on my side staring at the fabric mound, listening to Sloane breathe on the other side. Slow. Steady. Not asleep yet.

But it wasn't just any pillow—it was a token of his love and a symbol of their growing family. (Karis's pov) That night Xander didn't return to the room until I fell asleep. He worked the entire night. I was sleeping comfortably snuggling on a pillow. It was so comfortable but it was warm and not fuzzy. I snuggled closer into a tight cuddle to enjoy the warm feeling. It was one of the best sleep I had, but the faint rays of the sun had to interrupt this perfect sleep. ' Why does this pillow feel a bit hard?' I asked myself, confused while I was half asleep. Warm breath fanned across my face and my eyes immediately popped out to see the comfy pillow I was snuggling all night was a grown man.

The pillow under her head was extremely soft, and her body was covered by a silk blanket. I opened the basket. Inside was... A jar of pickles. A cheese plate. A fluffy, soft blanket. And curled around the whole thing… a narrow, body-length pillow. I stared at it all for a good thirty seconds. Pickles? Cheese? A pregnancy pillow? What... was this? A laugh bubbled up inside me—half bewildered, half hysterical. Was this a joke?
