Blinded By The Past
I shrug my shoulders, leaning over the cart with my forearms, and prop my left foot up on the bottom rack of the cart.
"I was preparing for a zombie apocalypse," I say nonchalantly, thinking of the weird-ass zombie movie I ended up watching the other night. "Least with the cookies I can cure my occasional sweet tooth. Unlike you, over there with your veggies and chicken. Seriously, do you eat anything that tastes remotely good?"
Cassandra laughs again, mockingly. "Zombies, you say?"
She walks back to me and pats me on the shoulder, her caramel-colored eyes almost smiling with mischief. "Well, Crayvin, zombies eat brains. So, I think you'd be safe."
