I could taste the salt of my own tears and the sweet relief on his tongue. When we finally broke apart, we were both breathless. My forehead rested against his, our noses brushing. A giddy, disbelieving laugh bubbled up in my chest. Then, the last shadow of doubt, the one question that had haunted me since the beginning, slipped out. “So I’m the crush?” I whispered, my voice husky. He gave me a curt nod. “So who owns the flowers you brought every night? And who do you sneak out at night to see?”
