A time when the glory that left came back in a simpler form that only a few could understand. Even in the darkness, men still make merry. Even in the light, women still cry. The air crackled with unspoken tension, the promise of further conflict hanging heavy in the air. The aroma of freshly baked bread and sizzling meat filled the air, a tempting symphony of smells that usually brought a smile to my face. But today, my appetite was lost, replaced by a gnawing sense of unease. Angeli's face, etched with a mixture of anger and despair, haunted my thoughts. Her situation was a tragic reflection of the cruel irony of love - to crave something you could never have.

The poem went this way, Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I did not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uprising rush Oh quiet birds in circled flight. For one breath, blood and light spoke the same language. The Hall, suspicious of poetry, tried not to notice. We noticed. And the noticing will cost us.

He was also staring outside, at the day sky that was bleeding into nightfall, and he didn't answer when his name was called. "I've long been wondering one thing to myself…" A soft sigh rang from the old director, followed by a statement that had hints of sorrow and self-mockery. "Life is really full of irony and lies…. People believe in gods, revering them as embodiments of sacredness and hope…Yet they didn't know that to become a god, one had to embark on a path that is not only full of thorns, but coated with blood, betrayal, sadness, immorality, depravity, and sins… Still, for these common people, gods are not only immortal, but holy... Don't you think it is so ironic?"

We force them in our shoes, but we seldom put us in the pitied. Continuously driving ourselves to this diminished society, looking for worth when there is nothing left because of us. Here I am writing this poem. Is it filled with irony? Considerable as a meek step for an extravagant change? Or are you guilty of these words? We all are. We may not pull out our modern notebooks to be witnesses, but we keep our eyes on the action. We stare. We watch. We look at the devil's eye instead. Grasp the valorous act, yet still fill it with real humility.
