As he finished the last sentence, Danny's eyes were filled with evil complacency. Danny then sealed several acupoints on Kimberly's body, preventing her from biting her tongue and committing suicide. Then he stood back, smiling, and waited for the medicine to take effect in Kimberly's body.

He stayed silent, letting the waves of Danny’s panic wash over him through the bond. He felt the cold, the hopelessness, and the terrifying desire for the world to simply stop.
