Mist
She looked up with fright when she saw me.
“Shh, I’m here to help you,” I said, and looked into her eyes. I was falling. I felt dizzy, and I couldn’t breathe properly. I shook my head, as I felt that familiar pull of the moon’s gravity, and I tried to snap out of it.
“What’s your name?” I asked her.
“Adelie,” she whispered, as she tried to cower away from me, when the flames leaped into my hands.
“I won’t hurt you, I promise,” I said, as she looked at me.
