I expected Bobby to laugh nervously like he usually did when I got sarcastic about uncomfortable topics. He said nothing, however. Suddenly, the very air itself felt charged with a curious sort of weight. I looked up and, to my surprise, saw by the glimmer in his eyes that he was far from joking.
