It felt good to focus on something positive, even if it was just for a little while. Then, I spotted a display of plush toys and couldn’t resist walking over. There were stuffed animals of all kinds—bears, bunnies, and even mythical creatures like unicorns and dragons. One plush toy in particular caught my eye. It was a fluffy gray wolf with bright, friendly eyes and a little blue ribbon tied around its neck. I reached out and picked it up, squeezing it gently. The softness was comforting, and I found myself smiling without even realizing it. “That one’s really popular,” the red-haired attendant said as she walked by. “We just got them in last week. The trunk opened with a soft pop, and out floated enchanted soft toys, handcrafted baby blankets from three different kingdoms, a spell-imbued lullaby globe that shimmered with starlight, and even a small enchanted mobile that sang calming melodies in both dragon and witch tongue. Elianna gasped softly. “Seraphina, you didn’t have to—” “Yes I did,” Seraphina interrupted. “They’re royalty. They need toys. And magic. And cuddly things.” Caelum, nestled in Elianna’s arms, let out a sudden hiccup and blinked up at the spinning dragon plush above him. Then he yawned... and promptly spit up on Elianna’s shoulder. They were sitting right where we’d left them earlier, still propped up in the fort we’d made. Charmine turned away and brought Chris to a claw machine and worked her magic, easily winning the toy Coco so desperately wanted to gain. Just like that, a cat plushie was brought out from the machine. It was an adorable and endearing toy cat of at least 60 centimeters long, and it fitted perfectly in Chris’ arms as he took it into his arms. He exuberantly jumped around. “Mommy is awesome!
