I nodded enthusiastically and gave her a thumbs up, which made her beam with pride.
“Come look at my stuffed animals,” she said, dragging me toward a corner where at least two dozen plush toys were arranged on shelves and in a hammock hung from the ceiling. “This is Mr. Whiskers, he's a cat but he thinks he's a lion. And this is Princess Sparkle, she's a unicorn who can fly but only on Tuesdays. And this is Doctor Bear, he helps when the other animals get sick.”
