Play it Straight

Play it Straight

Of all the times my roommate thought it was best to go to the studio, 11pm was most suitable for him and I just happened to be his accomplice because Zeke was busy skyping his girlfriend from our sister school across the lake, Avalon Heights, while Marlow was fast asleep. “Phoenix, it will only take a second, I promise. I need to get those canvases before Ms. Strauss gives them all away. And those paint brushes are rare as shit! It’s a lucky find. I can’t afford them so I need to get them before anyone else does and claims them for the semester.”

Two Can Play

Two Can Play

I set a rhythm; slow and deliberate, my cheeks hollowing with every downward stroke, my hand working the base of his cock in tandem with my mouth. The sounds he made drove me wild. Low groans. Sharp intakes of breath. The quiet, ragged sound of him saying my name under his breath like a prayer. But this was as far as I could go. I pulled off with a wet pop and licked my lips, tasting him on my tongue. "I love the way you taste," I told him, holding his eyes as I zipped him up. "I'll be seeing you around, game partner." I reached for my bag.

I'm HEAVILY invested in this novel. I haven't read a book in forever. Of course when I finally get deep into one, it is ongoing and not complete. I've read it all in 12 hours and pissed to have to wait for however long because I didn't know it was ongoing. It's cruel! How often is it updated?

Play Poor? Be One

Play Poor? Be One

Plenty of time to change the ending. On my way to grab Mom's lunch, I spotted Judy—smug, glowing like she'd just scored big. I tried to breeze past, but her high-pitched, fake-sweet voice cut through the hall. "Shiloh! Money comes in slow when you've got a real job. Good thing you lent me some!" I smirked. "Yeah, but you rake it in faster doing nothing. Just open your mouth and take it from our family. The future Leonhart heir spends more on a pet than that."

for publication. I had to seize every opportunity. I knew I'd need money for many things in the future. My study notes sold out both online and offline. Countless parents left raving reviews online, saying that after their children read my materials, their grades improved dramatically. Their children even found better study methods and identified the weaknesses in their studies. With all the recommendations, the sales for my notes kept increasing. In the end, I earned nearly two hundred thousand dollars in royalties. That day, after looking at the balance in my bank account, I smiled at my reflection in the mirror. For the first time, I was truly proud of the sparkling girl staring back at m

Your Little Plaything? I'll Be Your Nightmare

Your Little Plaything? I'll Be Your Nightmare

His thumb lingered, stroking my lips with a lazy, suggestive pressure. "I wouldn't have expected anything less from the woman I've set my sights on." He leaned in, whispering into my ear, "Since you already know, how about we start a new game?" His lips were almost pressed to my ear, his breath scorching against my skin. It sent a shiver down my spine. "Let's kick Dante out of the picture for good."

Four Can Play A Game

Four Can Play A Game

Being worried won't solve a thing, so why should I be worried? “We are 27 years old, Leonardo, and we haven't met or found our mate. Don't you think something is wrong, and we should worry about it?” he asked, but I only shrugged my shoulders and took a long sip of my drink before looking back at him. “I think the Moon Goddess has a plan for us, so why not sit and see what she has in store for us?” I suggested, but that only made him more furious and he flared up. “Can you listen to yourself, Leo? Do you think this is a game?” he asked, but I shrugged my shoulders and stood to my feet. I moved over to him, placed my two hands on his shoulders, and held his gaze.

THIS TIME

THIS TIME

Her laughter brings out my own laughter, and motivates me to keep her busy until she tires out, and actually falls asleep, since it's way past her bed time. By the time she actually calms down, she is sitting on my lap with her head, laid against my chest, while we listen to some music playing from my cellphone. I am aware that time has passed, but I just couldn't spend time here, without coming to see Ava. And, with Ava, time does seem to fly by.

Hook, line and sinker. He picks up the note that the soldiers left on his bedside table. He reads it aloud. "Her energy will be subdued as long as her cuffs are on, be careful." He chuckles, "I find it highly amusing how they're warning me off a little girl who is probably no more than 17, although you did give me a blood nose earlier." He's more talking to himself than to me but I decide to answer anyway. "Let me make it up to you," I say looking up through my lashes, trying to appear innocent and vulnerable. I try to walk over to him but my cuffs hold me in place. "If only I could show you how sorry I truly am." I say with a pointed look at my cuffs, giving them a tug for emphasis.

Atlas reacted quickly. He swiftly pulled me into his arms and shifted positions, evading the oncoming Poppy amidst the crowd's gasps. Luckily, Dylan grabbed her arm and pulled her back. Poppy pretended to look embarrassed. With a profound look, Dylan said, "Ms. Poppy, steady yourself!" Poppy felt uneasy under Dylan's cold gaze, her mind shaken momentarily. She quickly smiled and said, "I'm sorry! Ms. Chloe, I startled you. My fault for not standing firmly. Sorry."

It was a good book. A lot of the mixup/changes in names/locations was very annoying. Wish we would have gotten a little more out of the ending of one of the main villains. Chapters also needed to be longer; a lot of money spent on this book for 5-6 pages per chapter.

I loved this book. I liked all the characters and their interactions. Loved Atlas & Chloe together. Parts of the book are very suspenseful and made it hard to put down. Liked that she was a mom and a business owner. She was strong and intelligent. Hated that the book was over. Highly recommend.

The Alpha King's Breeder

The Alpha King's Breeder

I keep thinking she’ll get over it, but so far, what I’ve learned about Poppy is that it takes a lot for her to get past things. I don’t respond to her, though. I am holding the note Maddox scent in my hands, my eyes tracing every stroke of his writing as I go back and forth, back and forth. At 6:59, I pause, my nose in the air. I smell him…. The scent of his cologne tinges the air. I know he is nearby. “He’ll probably be late,” Poppy says. “It’s not even—” Her remark is cut off by a knock on my door. I smile at her, lay the note on my bed, and bound over to get it myself, even though Poppy is closer. She puts her book down and stands out of respect.

These books have been my lifeline. I am crushed to reach this point and have to leave this beautifully tragic world and all its perfectly flawed characters. I can't wait for the next update, and honestly hope (though I know it is in vain) we get to follow this family tree for even more generations.
