And there it was again—that strange glint in her eyes, something I couldn’t quite place. “Not a threat, darling,” she said, dragging the word out like silk. “Just a friendly heads-up.” “Here’s mine,” I shot back. “I won’t hesitate to file a formal complaint if you keep harassing us.” Michelle laughed. Actually laughed. “You think I’m your biggest problem, Pierce?” she said, using my last name like it gave her power. “You’ve barely scratched the surface of this place. When I'm about to turn to one corner, I see Melissa talking to some dude, but I can't really see who the guy is since his back was towards me. I try to hear what they're saying to find out who the guy is and surprisingly the voice is so familiar that I could instantly know who that voice belonged to. The first thing that pops into my mind is why is Zach talking to Melissa? Do they know each other?

He lowered his voice and said, "Don't overthink it, Claudia. I got her pregnant on purpose. With the baby, we'll have even more leverage to take control of the Becker family." Suppressing my disgust, I rushed to the restroom and threw up over the toilet. Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. These two had no shame at all, scheming right in front of me. I took out my phone and sent James a message, saying I wasn't feeling well, so I was heading home first. After forcing myself up, I splashed cold water on my face at the sink. Just then, my mother called. "Layla, Miguel Lampe wants to meet you. I've sent you the location."

The conversation felt suffocating, and the cameras clicking non stop weren’t helping. “Excuse us,” Michelle said sweetly, steering us toward another area. As soon as we were out of earshot, she leaned closer, her voice low but sharp. “Would it kill you to play along a little better?” I didn’t even bother to look at her as I replied, “I’m here, aren’t I? Don’t push it.” I leaned back in my chair, swirling the glass of whiskey in my hand as Michelle chatted animatedly with some executive. Her laughter filled the space, practiced and polite, but I’d tuned most of it out.

I turned to walk out but his next sentence stopped me. "How does it feel to have enough power to rival a country but still not be able to get whatever you want?" I knew he was just trying to get into my head. I need to find Michaella now at all costs before Mabel gets to her. I called her line again but just like before she didn't pick up the call. I had to drop a voice message after the mechanical voice spoke. "Michaella, if you receive this message call me or instead come to the restaurant where we had dinner the last time. I'm waiting." I rushed out of Williams's company and drove towards the restaurant.

Michelle yelled, curving her fist as she glared at Mr Davis who picked up his third glass of water and downed the content. "I'm sorry," he breathed, "This is...This is just unbelievable." "It is and it sucks as hell that she managed to outwit all of us except Scott." Michelle seethed, "We should have believed him. Only he could see through her from the very first day she arrived in New York."
