Then he opened the first book and turned it so the spine would stay flat, “We’ll go slow. You don’t need to know every word. You only need the ones that matter.”

Their same vibes talk was followed by another that made her feel at ease with Jace. "So tell me, Mortani, what's your body count?" the man inquired, his gaze fixed on her. "Body count? What is that? Measurement?" she questioned, perplexed. As she asked him that question, the man chuckled. "You know what, nevermind... You want something to drink? I'll get you some!" Jace interrupts the conversation. "Sure, just juice for me," she replied, smiling. Mortani was able to meditate peacefully while awaiting his buddy. She had no idea her life would turn out this way.

I met him in the garden drinking a glass of juice. "Let me take a look at the book that you are talking about”. "Chill. You just arrived". Said Jake. “I don't have a fucking time for all of this. I want to see the book”. I didn't know when I raised my voice at Jake. “I don't mean to raise my voice at you. You just have to hand the book to me”. Jake handed the book to me.

I had been working on my book, pouring my heart and soul into it, and I was eager to share it with him. "Hey," he said, smiling at me as he sat down beside me. "How's it going?" "About my struggles with anxiety and depression, and how I've been working to heal and overcome them."

I don’t have a phone I can use to reach either of them; I haven’t had a phone for days now. I flip the page of the self-help book which I’d grabbed from duty-free earlier, internally hating myself for not picking one of the other enticing fiction books I’d seen, but I thought about sleep, and the fact that I’d have to induce myself on this flight back to actually make it through, and went with it. It’s a book about the power of conversations, which I find ironic because of the situation I’m currently in, and because nothing in the past three pages I’ve read seemed helpful.
