Post Apocalyptic Books For Adults Novels & Stories

Because of his knowledge of and skill with animals, he often proved invaluable during the occasional encounter with a wild beast; especially those that were extinct on the surface. The second volunteer was a female named Alice. In her mid-twenties, Alice’s face showed the signs of wear and worry. Even so, the permanent creases that greedily occupied her young flesh didn’t deter from the sparkle of life in her dancing blue eyes. She’d weathered being orphaned right after the war and being raised within a group of wanderers that slowly fell prey to either the zombies or the aliens. Desperate for survival, she and the few remaining in her group migrated to inner earth. Completely unprepar

Patience moved into the library and saw the second thing that told her all was not well. Lying on the crimson, mottled carpet were the torn and tattered remnants of many, many books. They were piled high, pages screwed into balls or shredded, the bindings and covers buckled and broken. It was a sorry sight, a scene of literary carnage. As Patience moved forwards her foot caught something and she glanced down. There, glistening in the lights overhead, were Agnes Clutterbuck’s reading glasses. Patience picked them up and her eyes went back to the heaped mountain of books in the centre of the room.

"She'll have to accept the new reality sooner or later." I had no idea how long the apocalypse would last. Besides, the casualty rate of children was extremely high during the apocalypse. I would never stop Joyce from finding out how cruel this world had become. Once Joyce finally calmed down, Emmett and I began checking the doors and windows. Then, we started counting the supplies we had. When we heard the sounds of a car screeching to a halt outside the villa, Emmett quickly grabbed a rifle and moved to stand behind a window. I picked up a gun as well before joining him nervously.

but somewhere along the way, the numbers had stopped mattering. I had seen hungry children fighting over stale bread. Mothers pretending not to be hungry and giving away their last piece of bread to their children to eat. Old soldiers who had bled for the kingdom sleeping in the mud as if their sacrifice didn’t matter. And now, I was staring at the ashes left behind by those who would rather burn the poor than lose power.

I found a wounded giant wolf. After the world ended, I treated him as my strongest fighter and a living source of warmth, curling against him to sleep every night. Later, once he healed, he turned into a man and warned me with a savage look, "I'm the Alpha of a werewolf pack. I have responsibilities to my people. Don't think you can make me stay." And with that, he left. I pulled my ragged blanket tighter, confused. What was he talking about? I had been keeping him as a dog the whole time. What did his responsibilities have to do with me? Later, I rescued a foolish husky from a pile of zombies. When I led him back to my crumbling shelter, I found the heir to the werewolf pack crouched at my

And then everything went dark. Present Day I’m lying down. Awake, but unwilling to move. I know I can’t stay in one place for long. Today’s refuge is an abandoned, water-damaged house, where the makeshift bed of cardboard and filthy pillows is at least dry. You’d think that a year after the apocalypse, people would have adapted. Nope. They just became worse. Men rule the world now. Most women were taken—by the demons of hell, as the survivors call them. The destroyers of our world.

"Tomorrow I still have to go to the Hope Camp to deal with the last batch of 'patients.' And Celine is almost at the final stage too—I need to stay by her side and see whether she can awaken an ability. "Guillermo, don't disappoint me." Smiling, Ray took out his phone and started reading a novel. He had downloaded them all before the apocalypse—completed ones, of course. Any unfinished story would surely be abandoned forever, doomed to eternal hiatus. "I hate authors who drop their stories," he muttered, "but this time I'll let it slide. After all, this is a natural disaster—force majeure." Before he knew it, it was almost five o'clock. The sky, already gloomy, grew even darker.

Well, I can spend almost a whole day in a huge bookstore. Angelo picked a post-apocalyptic book about survival and zombies. I’ve seen him watching a zombie television series last time. Maybe he’s into those kinds of books until now. On the other hand, I picked a cozy high fantasy with a low-stakes book. I’ve read a lot of things about this book on the internet. But ever since we moved to the town, it is not feasible to reach a bookstore. This is the perfect time to read the book along with a drink that we’re going to order.

God, the audacity he had to say our sex was boring. A shaky breath left me as tears finally spilled over, running hot down my cheeks. How was I supposed to move on from this? My eyes flicked across the street to a club pulsing with muffled bass that thudded through the pavement. Neon lights bled into the night, shifting red, blue, red again. Two massive men stood at the entrance, arms folded, their bodies like walls built to block anyone out. That kind of place was exactly what I needed. Somewhere to drink until my thoughts shut up. Somewhere I couldn’t think about Lee.
