Chapter 59 -Who the captain really is Emma tapped her phone and opened her social media. Almost immediately, notifications started popping up everywhere. Right in the middle of them was a video from a morning TV show featuring Allison. Emma pressed play. Allison was sitting in a cream-colored blazer, looking sad as the interviewer asked her about the canceled wedding. “I just never thought my own sister could do something like this,” Allison said. “I tried to protect her, but some people only care about what they can get.”

“Not Suarez. Me.” “I couldn’t. Marco begged me not to say anything, and I wasn’t going to break that just to save my own eligibility.” “I know.” Harrelson’s face, usually unreadable, softened into something almost like pride, buried deep under decades of gruffness. “That’s exactly why I didn’t push harder when you stonewalled the board. A kid willing to torch his own reputation to protect a teammate is exactly the kind of captain I want leading this team into a championship. I just wish you’d trusted me enough to let me help you do it smarter.”

The man was crawling away, bleeding, his helmet cracked. "Who sent you?" Jack growled, pinning the man to the floor with his boot. The captain coughed blood. He looked at Jack’s face, then at his mutated arm. His eyes widened in recognition. "He... he said you would come," the captain wheezed. "Who?" "The other one," the captain grinned, his teeth red. "The Perfect One." Jack frowned. "Subject C?" "He calls himself... Cain," the captain whispered. "And he sends his regards."

"Because I was senior?" Roman shook her head. "No, ma'am. At least three of the commanding officers in question hold commissions that predate yours". "Well, then?" Roman's smile turned to a grin. "Because, as Captain Lewis Hashimoto put it, you have the biggest balls". The bridge crew exploded into laughter, the Chameleon's Captain felt herself blush, and the Earth fleet was reborn. * * *

The man on his right had brown hair that was braided down his back and he looked bored, his blue eyes filled with zero emotion. The man on the left had short, cropped white hair with glowing pink eyes. "Greetings from the star ship. I'm Captain Christine Wright. On the other screen is my First Commander."

If my wife agrees, I will take her to Russia," said the Captain. "Isn't this a movie actress" Taj "Yes, she likes me very much," Captain. "Will be dollars," thought Taj. "Dock clearance received ." The second mate informed the Captain. "We cast off on the seventh day, right?"

The kind of lethal that made smart girls run and stupid girls fall. I wasn’t here to do either. I tore my eyes away from the poster and squared my shoulders. The heel of my boot clicked against the tile with more attitude than I felt. I could fake it. I’d faked worse.

"Well basically yes, but I'm more stiffed and I shout most of the time when talking to them. They can't see this soft side of me. It's only for you!" Carter was very naughty. He loves teasing Isabella.

He didn't respond, and merely pulled out a seat. “Sit down, Elissa.” I sat, without a retort. Did my perspective of him change because he was giving me something no one else did? Yeah, he was giving me a chance. “I am sure of your character, and I know you didn't steal it, trust me.” I nodded. There was no other choice. Handling everything on my own would be a disaster. But it was something different when it was the captain of the hockey team standing up for me.
