I drank it all in one swift movement. Jason, I wouldn't beg for your love again. I was going to love myself. So… Why are you the one who ended up regretting it? ... I looked at the crystal vial in my hand. The pale, pink liquid shimmered inside, giving off a scent that was both mesmerizing and dangerous. This was the legendary Love Potion, the forbidden magic of our world of Werewolves. Drink it, and the target would have "love" etched deep into their soul for seven years.

EMBER'S POV The apothecary is the kind of place you'd walk past a hundred times and never see. It's wedged between a shuttered tailor and a shop that seems to sell nothing but buttons, with a crooked green door and a hand-painted sign so faded I have to tilt my head to read it. Pennywort & Co. There's a little brass bell, and a window full of dusty jars, and a general air of a place that has not had a customer since the invention of electricity and would prefer to keep it that way.

There was a small, seemingly soft bed with white bed sheet laid over it, whereas two candles on an oblong table were the only source of light in the room. Four large pots respectively containing Peonies, Roses, white Lilies and Freesias stood at the four corners of the space, their heady, sweet and floral mingling fragrance that soothed the room with ventilation. A smaller pot of Peony sat on the table alongside potion vials of several-colored potions and a few apothecary Jars. Looking under the table, there were two water-filled ceramics Jars, a wooden mortar-pestle and a long-handle mahogany spoon leaning against the wall beside a portable cauldron.

It took me minutes before I arrived to the first page of the ‘Potion Section’. “Animal Transformation Potion, Appearance Potion, Beauty Potion, Disguise Potion, Elixir of Life, Hair Growth Potion, Happy Potion, ..” every word was fascinating. I didn’t know things like these existed. Then after a few seconds, “The Love Potion.” I mumbled as I found the page that would bring me into my own death. “Two alive love bugs, three cups white wine, three cups red wine, nine apple seeds, and nine fresh rose petals.” I immediately read the ingredients and tried to familiarize the steps myself.

charming. The shop itself wasn't big at about two-hundred square feet, but it was organized to the nines and made great use of space. Floor-to-ceiling chipped birch shelves held lotions, soaps, and ointments on one side, all made by Fiona. Each scented bottle had it's own purpose. Relaxation. Stress-relief. Romance. Energy. Fertility. Rejuvenation. Healing. Luck. On the other side were shelves of the same material with potions made by Ceara, candles, and homemade tea bags. Again, all with a purpose and decoratively labeled. They apparently did online orders, too.

Not everyone had to bear the heir to the throne who was important and ending their life in a womb was a sin. And also, this particular shop didn't only sell abortion tonics. They also sold other things like poison and opium. I reached the shop. There were other similar shops around this part of the night market. And the other similar shops were more crowded than this particular one. But I knew that the products sold from here were higher in quality. I stepped into the shop. There were a lot of eccentric looking things placed on the shelves with potions in several unique bottle shapes. "Welcome..." A freaky voice called out to me.

I was calling the pack house home now, I guessed. “Before we head back, do you think that we’d be able to stop in bloodmoon?” I asked, spotting a witch’s shop that had poisons and potions in the window. “If you’re fighting my father, I need to stock up on supplies to help you guys out.” They glanced at each other, and then Asher clenched his jaw and nodded. “Be quick.” Not having to be told twice, I hurried across the street and toward Witch’s Brew, which looked to be a magic shop with golden-accented windows. I glanced into the door window, then walked into the black-mystical atmosphere.

"And word's already spreading you're here. Council sympathizers are everywhere." Jamie thanks her and they descend deeper. The third level is darker, less crowded. The alchemist's shop is at the end of a long corridor. Inside, an ancient man tends to bubbling potions. He doesn't look up when they enter. "Phoenix ash. Fresh or preserved?" His voice is dry as dust. "Whichever works fastest to cure dragon poison." Now he looks up. His eyes are milky white, blind but somehow seeing everything. "Dragon poison. Rare. Expensive to cure. Do you have payment?"

The glowing fountain bubbled and soon, Luke leaned around a rack. He eyed Duke for a moment. “You look like you can at least stay awake. We’re brewing your first potion today!” Duke huffed and we walked round the shelf to see the table that he’d set up to brew potions. We took our places around a large table where various ingredients and tools were laid out. I didn’t recognize most of it, but I listened as Luke started to explain what the ingredients were and introduced the basics behind brewing potions. “You’ll find that anything you buy from a supernatural seller, like hair products, was made by a potioneer. The school uses a lot of potions all the time, so look forward to brewing gigantic

Now, she seemed more like the store keeper, and Scarlett, a buyer. "Yes, yes. Morning. What can I do for you? I have a lot of amazing potions, made with wisdom from three goddesses. I have a fine drink that can make your face even more beautiful and glow radiantly, as well as one that can make your body features more pronounced." Leaning towards Scarlett, she added in a whisper: "I also have one that can make your... you know, cunt so delicious, your lover will want you and no one else." She giggled with excitement.
