Code-named ‘Unison.’” “What is it?” I asked, although I already had a bad feeling. “A special auction. Not your average art. They’re calling it ‘living art’ a metaphor. It’s not paintings. It’s military-grade weapons.” I said nothing. “Storm,” Dante continued. “This isn’t your average underground sale. We’re talking prototypes. Hardware still in development. Biometric guns, drones with experimental AI, anti-tracking vests, grenades that don’t exist in any official arsenal. Stuff countries would kill to deny ever creating.”

“I have a hunch, but we can’t talk about it here. The car we’ve got is stolen, and it’s only a matter of time before those guards show up looking for your bodies.” Cradling my broken arm to my chest, I followed Nox and Jada to the car. We drove for another hour or two before ditching it at an outlet full of shops. The parking lot was packed enough for it to blend in. While Hakeem and Nox went to a few of the shops to get us a change of clothes, I waited with Jada as she contacted one of the members of the Order. My heart pounded in rhythm with it, each beat laced with both awe and fear. Around me, I could feel everyone holding their breath. My breath catches. I know that sword. Damien takes another step back, his face ashen, eyes wide with worry. Caleb and Austin finally shift their focus to him, their bodies going rigid.

Assistant Onyx conveyed. "Prepare."

Onyx waved his hand and slipped it inside his pocket. "You f*ucking w*hore!" Owen yelled, and Onyx's head shot back at him. Onyx's eyes darkened as he trembled with wrath. "Say that again! I dare you!" His chest shuddered with wrath as he growled. Not a single word came out of Owen's mouth as he started trembling in fear starting into Onyx's haunting eyes. Ophelia was shocked beyond words at Onyx's reaction and all she could do was let Onyx drag her to the elevator. Ophelia didn't realize she was staring at Onyx until he looked down at her and she cleared her throat. She took a step away from his arm, and his grip on her waist loosened.

I shrugged my shoulders, “I guess I will go without it. I’m okay with that. She cried, “You little bitch. I know you’re lying. You will choose my son as your mate and you will mark him. We will hold a marking ceremony tomorrow night. Be ready. I will bring my son in a little later for you to meet.” She left the room and I laid down on the bed again. The wall, or rather secret door gave way to a small store room where every coveted weapon was stashed in bulk in glass safes with laser beams protecting each gun, bomb, grenade, or any other weapon that you could name.
