Was I just being absent minded, ignorant or simply unaware? "I can't invoke to see the future because It àlways comes without warnings. It shows me what is going to happen any time soon in the future when I didn't call for it. It could come as a dream, a premonition during the daylight or any time when I least expect it. It always just set in without warnings but I am glad I got accustomed to it and now I can control it better without freaking out by the things I see," she explained but I was still curious.

I sent a voice message to a pinned contact with a grayscale profile. “Mom, I nailed the audition. “The orchestra conductor said they have room in the dorms, so I’ll be moving over tonight. “I’ll be on my own now, Mom. Don’t you worry.” The text was sent successfully, but a reply would never come. Out of habit, I took out my obsolete phone and texted myself a “you did great” emoji before packing my bags. The lights downstairs were killed, and ten minutes later, a car pulled up outside the manor.

A scream tears from my throat as my fingers claw at the air. But it doesn't matter. The branch slips past my reach. I am falling. The forest rushes up to meet me. Firm fingers clamp around my wrist. Then the fall stops. My body jerks violently to a stop. I blink through the haze of pain. Green eyes. No. Kaine. He regards me with that same infuriating calm, as though catching someone in midair is a frequent occurrence. “You really have no sense of self-preservation.”

’ It was just a bad dream, I tell her, not fully able to believe the words to be true even as I say them. My wolf keeps telling me that we’re special, but just how special, I couldn’t even begin to guess, but I’m wondering if premonitions are part of what makes us special. “You okay?” Zach asks, pulling me out of my head and the memory of what I hope really was only a bad dream. “No,” I tell him honestly. “I have this feeling that I can’t shake and I think that I need to go and look into it.” “Okay,” he says, not questioning me even a little as he walks to the doors. “Let me just link Zane and Zara, and we will go with you.”

“Like that? Like… what?” “It’s hard to explain,” she admits. “It’s just this feeling I get during certain dreams. That’s how I know it’s not just a dream but a premonition. I had the same dream about you and your mate for several nights in a row, so I was sure you’d find him during the Haze. When you didn’t, well, I was confused.” Fighting tears, I manage to say, “Well, maybe I’ll find him next time.” I see her eyes widen as she considers this, blinking a few times. “I guess that’s possible.”

“I just had it a few days ago. Again a misty forest, but I watched a witch get kidnapped by werewolves.” “What do you think about the dream? Do you think it’s real? “Yeah, I do. If the fire came true, then this witch was or is going to be kidnapped.” “Seems like you figured out one of your blessings?” Selene leaned up against the tree and lifted her head to the sky. “I can see the future?” “Not exactly; that would be unfair. You have the gift of premonition. You have visions; they can be of the past, present, or future. Right now, they hide in your dreams, but the stronger you get, you will receive them when you are conscious.”

And why do I get this strange feeling telling me something is about to happen? ***

Not necessarily a premonition, more like a daydream type of wish. In the vision, I'm hugging a woman. I can’t see her physical features, but we are crying tears of joy. She feels like my sister. I smile as I open my eyes. Bronx is sitting beside me, also meditating. I wait until he opens his eye and I take his hand. “I had a vision but not like a bad premonition, more like, a feeling about my family, I guess?” “What do you mean, Baby?” “Remember that time we researched in your library and found out I’m a Menae?”

I grimaced through the discomfort, hissing in pain as I waddled my way to the bathroom. "Are you going to mention anything to the doctor about those dreams?" Caleb asked as I began to wash in the shower. "Maybe, why?" I replied, yelling over the rushing sound of water as I showered. There was a long pause before he replied, "Ah, no reason. I think they're just down to pregnancy hormones and lack of sleep, that's all." I scrunched my face as I answered, "Yeah, but what if it's a premonition? You know, like the ones your mother has."
