As they watched, the dead abominations began to change. The grey, patchy skin softened, the protruding spinal ridges sank back into the flesh, and the long, bladed claws retracted, shrinking back into human fingers. Within minutes, the clearing was no longer filled with monsters, but with the corpses of people, men and women who looked like they had been tortured and burned before their transformation.
