Poppy peeled back the tissue.
Inside the box was a children’s tea party set, but not the cheap plastic kind sold in toy stores. This was something else. Miniature porcelain, fine and delicate, with a pale blush base and soft gold lining the rims of the cups. Each piece had tiny hand-painted roses, dark green leaves, and one little crown that was almost invisible unless you were rea
