After she left, the young woman smiled at me. “Hello, Ami. My name is Idara. Welcome.”
Then, lowering her voice, she leaned in and whispered, “Why did you want to do this to your baby?”
I was yet to respond and was still confused by her question. Before I could respond, Jovita suddenly returned, as if she had forgotten something or maybe she had overheard Idara’s voice.
“Idara, come with me. I need to see you now,” she said. Her tone was neither harsh nor gentle.
