She picked up her crystal glass, swirling the amber liquid inside with a slow, hypnotic rhythm before draining it completely. "Do you honestly think you are the first woman to try and trap a Hudson man with a crisis?" Jane stared out over the dark, sweeping expanse of the manicured gardens, her aristocratic features hardening into a mask of pure, unadulterated bitterness.

JANE I heard the words leave my mouth before I could stop them. "It's only fair to end this with a little bit of crass, is it not?" His eyebrows went up. Interest flickered across his face. At the bar across the room, three women simultaneously reached for their drinks. Deja mentally rubbed her hands together. Oh, this is TOO good.
