The servants greet her and each has a gift for her. The servants were all happily smiling that made Jade smiling wide, too.

When she finally spoke, her voice was so quiet we had to lean forward to hear her. “I was jealous,” she whispered. “Of Sarah. Of her life.” “Jealous?” Zoey repeated. “Why?” “Because her life is so easy,” Jane said, and there was bitterness in her voice. “She has money, she has parents who care about her, she lives in that beautiful mansion with maids and butlers and everything perfect. And I’m here, living in this trash heap with a brother who treats me like garbage.”
