ROOSEVELT’S POV Beatrice pulled her hands away from the female officers, and she began to weep loudly like a small child who got caught doing something bad. Her diamond rings clicked against the floor as she stretched her hands out toward Zyran’s shoes, and her fancy hair was falling all over her face. "Zyran, my son, please do not do this to your own mother," Beatrice wept, looking up at him with red eyes while her body shook.

Maybe it was due to the fact that her mother was from a faraway continent. She was beautiful though. He thought as he watched Prince Caspian's jaw dropped as she gracefully walked down the stairs. Of course he was stunned, she was a beauty and the Queenstrial just got harder for him. A small smile on her perfect face and her eyes a blazing golden colour. Wait. Sparkled beneath the soft lights. When I entered, the crown princess stood in the middle of the ballroom, shouting away orders. Her back was toward me. Her hair dangled in perfect coils behind her. The muted blue gown she donned was to make sure she didn't outshine Farren in any way. Not that anyone could with the dress she had chosen. "Princess Beatrice," I called and walked toward her. She gracefully swung her head over her shoulder to look at me. The scowl was instantaneous. I plastered a smile on my face, her expression not bothering me in the slightest.

We were in public for christ’s sake and he couldn't even be up to anything. Prince’s eyes finally flickered away from me to rest on Tricia and something flickered in his eyes, something unrecognizable and dark. His eyes still remained unreadable but there was something different about them when he saw Tricia. And Tricia was just oblivious to everything, she just continued eating her cake and ice cream with a reckless abandon.

As she did, her eyes lighted up and her lips curved upwards into a smile. "It's great isn't it?" Beatrice asked with a content smile. "Yeah, it is," Mackenzie answered with a grateful smile. Miss Beatrice right here was a short-haired brunette woman and she was quite gifted in the right areas. Her face did not match her loud personality— She had an innocent disposition and her jean blue eyes and sulky lips accentuated that quality of hers. "Now the rest of you can try the fish sticks," Beatrice placed the plate on the table and the girls hovered over it.

“I look fine enough. Don’t you think so?” Beatrice tilts her head in disappointment, placing the hairbrush back on the table before she says, “You do, Princess.” “Wait, what is that? How did that happen?” I ask, my attention temporarily diverted by Beatrice’s swollen and reddened arms. She tries to hide them behind her back. “It’s nothing, Princess,” she tells me, shaking her head. I step closer and narrow my eyes at her. She swallows hard and shows me her arms. “Are they burnt?”

I commented with a dry laugh. Beatrice hit me lightly on the head with the dishcloth she had on her shoulder. That night she was wearing the usual flashy makeup, with golden and red shadow above a thick eyeliner, whose extremely long false eyelashes almost fully covered her efforts to make the shadow stand out. The outfit was a bright and very thin-looking dress of red color, whose neckline fell into a deep slit, giving prominence to her small breasts. The high heels echoed against the wooden floor, as she beat them back and forth in order to finish the preparations for our supper.

It was beautiful. "Wow," I breathed. "Come on." Kaelen took my hand. "Let's explore." We walked into the market and people started noticing. Conversations stopped. Heads turned. Someone whispered "That's her, the princess." I wanted to run. "Breathe," Silas said quietly. "You're fine. Just smile and wave." I tried. Lifted my hand in a small wave, a few people waved back. Some bowed while others just stared. "Princess Beatrice!" A woman pushed through the crowd. She was older, maybe fifty, with kind eyes. "Welcome home, my lady. We've waited so long for your return."

The King said lazily and my eyes popped out. I was dumbfounded. It wasn’t just me. Duke Charles was equally surprised and displeased, if I may add. As for the Queen, her smile disappeared but there was no other emotion on her face. It was surprising how beautiful she looked. Somehow, she doesn’t resemble the Prince. Her eyes were blue, black hairs and long face with sharp nose, full red-lips and thick eyebrows. Her eyes were wide and there were no wrinkles to prove her age. She had glossy skin; envious worthy.
