She stammered, cowering away from his deadly gaze as she tugged her legs closer to her chest; breathing heavily.
“But you heard the voice, so tell me; little girl. Who was it?” Dorian asked, his irritation with the princess increasing greatly as he leaned towards her.
The princess gulped, turning to glance at the mortals who hung from rusted shackles, knowing that she could reveal to the feral immortal who had screamed. The thought of telling him sickening as she knew the woman would be unable to survive the unmerciful tortures he would force her to endure for disobeying his commands. “It was me, sir ... I, I was the one screaming.”
