Pucking Forbidden Claim
The sound of sticks clacking fills the air, sneakers squeaking as everyone moves in quick bursts.
And then there’s Rook, running his mouth nonstop.
“Is that all you got, Mercer?”
“You call that a shot?”
“You getting tired already, old man?”
I groan, intercepting a pass before shoving forward, aiming straight for the net, but before I can get a clean shot off, Rook steps in my way, knocking my stick just enough to throw me off.
I glare as the puck skids off to the side. “You bastard.”
Rook just grins. “You love it.”
