The book is about a Goddess who visits Earth on a regular basis every five hundred years when a doppelganger emerges in the family bloodline, this also happens to be when the most supernatural crimes take place, so she has a mission to find out who is creating these troubles and killing off supernaturals. She meets a new friend, a young Alpha Wolf whose mate they partially saved but needs further assistance in catching her attacker who is creating death and destruction in the supernatural community, and to find this person they require the knowledge of a long-time friend of the Heroin; Gabriel the Vampire king who she had an affair with in one of her past lives. They soon figure out the demon who had been causing the uproar was sent by someone more powerful than her and her acts were not that of selfish greed for power but rather she is a puppet in a larger story.In the second half of this book FOOL ME ONCE the Heroin Scarlette no longer has the goddess sharing her body she is now just a supernatural Seer or so she thought, who is mated to the vampire king who's Clan is not happy that their king has been mated to a seer but his second in command stands by their king after thousands of years waiting for Scarlette Gabriel is finally rewarded an eternal mate but they face the dangers of his clan giving him the ultimatum to either turn her or reject her as his mate if he does not his clear swears to kill her and make him beg the gods to sculpt a vampire queen for them because they will not bow down to a seer. My neighbor's daughter is sick, and my mother forces me to donate a kidney to her. I've been malnourished since childhood—just drawing blood is enough to cost me my life. "You whore!" A masculine voice. "You philanderer!" A feminine voice. "I'll kill you in this house!" He bellowed as he charged straight to the woman and started beating her up. The little boy stood at the door and watched his parents go about their daily routine, tears spilled from his eyes. He stood in the shadows, just watching and crying. If he speaks out loud, they'll remember him and his father will beat him also. No one remembers him. Not unless they want to beat him too. Then he saw the blow, heard the awful sound. The blow that made a difference. The blow that made that day stand out from every other day. His mom stopped screaming, she laid there on the floor, staring into nothingness. Dead. "Gia." His dad paused mid-beating. No answer. "Gianna!" He patted her white arms turned red from being beaten. Terror filled the little boy's system, a sound escaped his mouth, drawing the man's attention. "Oops. I've forgotten about you." He said to the little boy. "Mom's dead..." The little boy said in a tiny voice. The man looked down at the lifeless white woman, "Seems like it." He looked at the boy with an eye filled with menace. "You'll pretend you didn't see a thing. You'll......" The siren rang outside. The police had arrived. A neighbour had alerted them when he heard the noise. He watched as the policemen pointed their guns at his father. He watched as they took his father away. He remained hidden, his blue eyes returning to the woman who laid on the floor, with eyes as blue as his. She was staring right at him. Finally, she sees him. Only in death, did she really see him. Something died in that little boy that day. Replaced with bitterness.
