Without hesitation, she presses the play button and tilts the screen so that we can all watch together. The video begins, and we are instantly greeted with a playful scene. Kittens and cats of various colors scamper around a charming townhouse, darting under a Victorian loveseat and leaping onto a rocking chair. The camera zooms in on a graceful gray cat prancing around the fireplace. Sergio's voice resonates from the phone's speaker, filling the room. "Licorice, now do the cat walk. Do the cat walk!" he exclaims with enthusiasm, accompanied by pulsating techno music in the background.

When I finally look around, I scan the room before Emily perks her ears up and stares at me with her beautiful green feline eyes as she stands up and saunters towards me. Meowing softly, she looks as if she is smiling and is trying her best to say good morning to me in her soft-spoken little voice. Ever since she was a little kitten, she has sounded like this. When she grew, her voice stayed the same even though she became an oversized grey tabby, who tends to eat far more than she should.

"Hey kitty," I say finding her on top of her shelf, her tail was moving lazily around, she must be bored staying here all alone the whole day, bored, we need to get her some toys soon. "Hi," she answers me waving her hand over her head. "Wanna come down? Spend time with me?" I ask her finger crossed she'll agree to come down and spend time with me. "Okay," she agrees, giving me her hands ready to come down.

I love her. It is then that I realize you could hear a pin drop in the place. The only sounds are my ragged breaths and her light sobs. People are awestruck including the DJ. “Come home with me, please, Little Kitten,” I plead without turning around to look at her. “I want to have fun, but you ruined it!” She shines.

Overwhelmed by frustration, I cursed out loud, not caring if I wake the neighbors groaned into the couch. I'm soon greeted by the calming purr of my cat, Chelsea. The Turkish Angora struts towards me in a graceful stride, her tail snaking around my feet as she rubs her nose against my legs. My heart warmed at the cute gesture, and I crouched down to her eye level, earning a satisfied purr as I ran my hands through her shiny white fur. “Tonight wasn't the night Chelsea,” I tell her solemnly, and as if sensing my sadness, Chelsea tilts her head to the side, her blue eyes shining with curiosity. “I'm going to die a virgin at this rate.”

I exclaim, reaching inside and carefully lifting him out. He’s so tiny, I can feel his fragile ribs beneath the softness of his fur. His little heart is pounding between my palms. He mewls even louder, pawing at the air. “There now.” I hug him to my chest and stroke his head. “You’re safe.” The kitten settles with a purr that vibrates in his ribcage. He meows again, hauntingly this time, and instinctively I know the little creature is hungry. He’s too small for solid food. He needs milk.

"Cuddle him and he'll stop squirming." Cuddle him. I need a large deep hole to jump into. I glance toward Axel whose watching me with a sly grin. Beck and Labyrinth share the joke too with a few snickers. Here goes nothing. I lift the kitten higher and put him between my jaw and shoulder. A few seconds later, he calms and begins purring. "I knew you could do it." Her smile shows all her teeth, and she looks so darn proud. I hand him back. "Take him."

Inside was a pile of blankets… and a litter of kittens. I cooed and rushed to the little fence immediately as five or six tiny balls of fur on legs started hopping towards me. Their little triangle-tails stuck straight up and they gave high-pitched mewls as they tumbled towards me. “They’re so cute!” Leaning my crutches on the wire sides of the enclosure, I reached awkwardly over the low gate to pick up a little tabby who purred immediately and rubbed its face on my nose when I leaned in to kiss it.

I was in awe of their courage, and I thanked them with all my heart. The pack gathered around me, and I told them what had happened. They were amazed by the bravery of the mother cat and her kitten, and they praised them for their actions. The kitten walked up to me, and I bent down to pet it. It purred loudly, rubbing its head against my hand. I smiled, a feeling of peace settling over me. I knew that I had made a new friend, and that the pack was safe. I named the kitten Lucky, and it became a beloved member of our pack.
