Put Your Head On My Shoulder Novels & Stories

“How are you feeling?” I rested my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes for a moment. “A little better,” I whispered. “With you here.”

It was quiet for a while, the seconds stretching out, soft and tense all at once. “How do you always seem to bring out feelings in me when I least expect it??” he murmured, his voice gentler now. He then let out another sigh and rested his head on my shoulder, causing my heart to race. “Just let me hold you like this, won’t you? You don’t need to help me with my urges. So, stop driving me insane.”

It's Anderson - no, Ander. I get up ready to leave, but he grabs my shoulders, positioning me in place. I try my very best not to focus on the fact that his hands are on me. Anything but that. Like the birds in the sky, or the trees or Archie's abs. My face reddens even deeper. “I'm reading. I have an assignment I'm doing research on so I ca-"

“Then lean.” I did. Slowly. The way you tested ice after a thaw. My shoulder found his. The contact was solid and warm and ordinary and completely catastrophic to my nervous system. I felt him exhale like he had been holding the breath for days. His head tilted until his temple rested lightly against my hair. Still not hands. Still not the claim in its old form. Just the simple animal fact of two people sharing warmth after a long cold stretch.

I pulled it to the end of my shoulder leaving my shoulder flesh bear to their eyes. I squint then closed my eyes as I try to be calmer at that moment. “Turn around so everyone one here can examine your shoulder” “Yes, Sir” I shook my head turning around almost immediately, taking in deep breaths, while I began to gradually widening my eyes.

I said, earning a nod from him. I gently picked him up before walking with him to the bathroom. He laid his head on my shoulder, sighing softly. There was something intimate and familiar with how he laid his head on my shoulder. It was as though he belonged right there. By my side. Or in my arms for this instance. I love you so, so much. I thought sadly.

I asked a sarcastic question and I couldn't stop myself from rolling my eyes. "You're always pushing me away." he said and I was shocked when he suddenly leaned my head on his shoulder! "What are you doing?" I said and was about to leave when I felt a gentle hand. He patted my head that was still resting on his shoulder. "Being stingy adds to your headache so it's better if you don't just talk there and lean on my shoulder. It's so easy to do, isn't it? Just close your eyes and rest ..." he said gently, so there was nothing I had already done. I was really drained too much to argue with him.
