Gone With the Quiet Wind

Gone With the Quiet Wind

"A shell of her former self, eh? That's spot on, Grandpa. Let's just focus on ourselves from now on. They're nothing to us." He nodded in agreement. "I won't get worked up because of her anymore. We'll live well together." Jolene dropped by not long after. She came bearing gifts for Bruce, but didn't plead for Leon. "Bruce, I'll get to the end of this. I'm just glad you're alright." Bruce didn't give her a warm response. She felt guilty and left on her own. However, she felt an odd sense of emptiness growing inside her as she walked away, leaving her increasingly uneasy. She lit a cigarette—something she hadn't touched in a long time.

The Alphas Little Warrior

The Alphas Little Warrior

I found the book interesting and practical, but it also stated that the mind needs quiet time to recharge and right now I don’t have any of that. I grabbed another book and a glass of water, sat and began reading, “Time and Value.” The book was short and sweet, thank the goddess because it was boring as hell. It was all about efficient time management, productivity in a specific amount of time and the value of how well you can manage your time. Right now, I’d like to manage the sound in this room to absolute quiet, but that’s not happening. I looked at the clock 38:09, I chuckled, I’ve never wanted time to move faster than I do right now. I stood and began doing jumping jacks, why I don

This book is great. Tenderness, yarning, caring ML, badass FML, adorable child character, likable supporting characters, and humor. There's an annoying subplot at the beginning, but don't let that put you off—it's definitely worth reading on.

The Quiet One Snaps at Christmas Eve

The Quiet One Snaps at Christmas Eve

"I got the house back. And every single person who hurt you is going to pay." Outside, the winter wind howled, and the cries of Aunt Zoe and Quinn began to fade. Inside, the heating was on full blast. I took a long, deep breath, feeling the weight that had crushed my chest for 20 years finally begin to lift. But I didn't expect Quinn to actually have the nerve to send over a text full of arrogant taunts.

The Omega Luna's Revenge

The Omega Luna's Revenge

Since the letters had started arriving from wolves waking up alone in a changed world without language for what had changed. Since Anya had asked if she could stay. I held that desire honestly and completely and without strategy. And I opened the door. It was quiet. That was the first thing. Not dramatic. Not the overwhelming surge of the Remembering or the sharp clarity of the true name or the warm flood of the Moon Goddess’s gratitude. Just quiet. And then, in the quiet, something that arrived the way warmth arrives in a room when the fire is lit. Not noticed at the exact moment of beginning. Noticed when it was already present, already changing the quality of the space, already real.

The Bookstore Temptation

The Bookstore Temptation

But she… didn’t flinch. Lena walked over to a little table display and picked up a thin, cloth-bound book. She walked over to him, holding it out like an offering. *The Quiet Between Lightning Strikes.* A poetry book. The cover was old and nubbly, the title scribbled in fine silver ink. Julian stared at it like it was an alien thing. "What's this?" "A book," she said, smiling. "I told you. I don't—"

Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams

It’s quiet here… It’s always quiet in here, but not the kind that feels abandoned, empty. Just settled, I mean a bookstore shouldn’t be noisy either, so being used to the kind of quiet that sits comfortably in your chest instead of pressing against it is kind of my normal. We get a few regulars enough to keep the lights on, enough to remind me the place still matters to people other than me.

Warmth encircled me and the welcoming scent of the ocean woke me from my slumber. I was in Justin's room. I looked over realizing we had both moved to the middle of the bed causing me to be a few inches away from him. Justin's hair was a mess sticking up every which way, though mine was probably worse.

Song of the Quiet Flame

Song of the Quiet Flame

She bowed, her fingers tapping a message at a snail's pace. [Elaine: Time for bed.] [Stephen: Mm, come over to sleep.] Elaine wondered if Stephen had any clue what he was suggesting, biting back her frustration. [Elaine: Jasper's here too.] Stephen, fresh from a shower and clad only in a bathrobe in the room next door, chuckled at her message. He shot back a casual reply. [Stephen: Right beside you?] Elaine felt exposed, as if he could read her mind. As she stewed in her irritation, not wanting to respond, Jasper, who had been quiet until then, suddenly asked, "Who's got you so engrossed in conversation? You look quite amused."

The Billionaire's Forgotten Queen

The Billionaire's Forgotten Queen

“Even the things I should have listened to sooner.” I swallow hard. “Why bring me here?” “Because this place is calm. Quiet. Gentle. And I want you to have moments that feel like this.” Something inside me softens, almost painfully. “You can pick a book if you want,” he adds awkwardly. “Or we can just look around.” I smile without meaning to. “Thank you,” I say. “This is… thoughtful.” He looks relieved. “Good.” We walk slowly between the shelves. I let my fingers brush across the spines. There’s something soothing about the silence. No business talk. No tension. No threats. Just the soft rustle of pages.
