THE AUREUM TRIAL: BLOOD OATH

THE AUREUM TRIAL: BLOOD OATH

The volume still sat there, tucked like a secret between louder voices, its silver letters catching only the faintest glimmer from the hearthlight. I let the silence breathe for a heartbeat longer, then said quietly, “Professor… the book I nearly touched. The Quiet Cull.” My voice felt out of place in the room, too soft and too mortal. “What is it about?” He didn’t answer immediately. His head tipped just slightly to one side, the faintest narrowing of his eyes suggesting either amusement or irritation—though with him, it was always impossible to tell where one ended and the other began. He shifted back against the leather of his chair, fingers still steepled loosely before his lips, and reg

HER MOTHER’S HUSBAND

HER MOTHER’S HUSBAND

I read. He wrote. The room was, I was aware of this the way you were aware of a temperature, as a thing the body registered before the mind classified it, the room was the most specific quality of quiet I had encountered in the weeks of this house. Not the quiet of absence, the quiet that existed in rooms when no one was in them, which was a passive thing, the room simply not being occupied. This was the quiet of presence. Of two people present and occupied and proximate and, not speaking.

(E‌lara's POV) The q‍uiet in t‌he house w‌as the worst part. It‌ wasn’t pea‍cefu‌l. It‍ w‍as the kind of quiet where you could hear‍ every little sound, and ever‍y sound was wrong. Th‌e hum of the fridge. The t‍ick of the clock in the hall. My own breathing.‌

Naya Hart
This is such an interesting book, and the characters are really good. Jane is that one friend anybody should have, and then Elara who was called barren was finally going to be having her baby. It's a pity her husband had to cheat on her with her step sister. Overall the story is really good.

Honestly I love that she had a friend like Jane, I love her personality. I love how I could feel every emotion you tried to put into words and everything played like a movie in my thoughts. This is such a good read. Kudos dear author...️

The Quiet Was Final

The Quiet Was Final

The room went silent, the air thick with tension like it was encased in ice. I set my gaze toward the cops. "What I'm about to spill is all evidence, and it will help you out."

FORBIDDEN ICE: CLAIMING THE CAPTAIN'S SISTER

FORBIDDEN ICE: CLAIMING THE CAPTAIN'S SISTER

CHAPTER 184 FRAGILE THINGS THAT DON’T SHATTER ISLA The library has always been my favorite kind of quiet. This quiet was warm. Dusty sunlight slanted through tall windows, catching in the air like suspended glitter. Pages turned, pens scratched and someone coughed three tables away and immediately whispered an apology. It was just a different kind of peace. I sat cross-legged on one of the window seats, a textbook open on my lap and three more stacked beside me like I was actually planning on reading all of them. My highlighter rested between my teeth while my eyes skimmed the same paragraph for the fifth time.

Dominated By Him

Dominated By Him

I let myself sit inside that word—quiet—for a long minute. Quiet was a country I had not been able to find on any map for as long as I had been wearing my sister's name. Quiet was the inside of a basement only as long as it took someone to come back to it. Quiet was a roadside in Connecticut between two sets of headlights. I had not slept inside a quiet in over a year. He felt the shift in me. His hand on my back stilled, then resumed its slow, even circle. "Breathe," he said, low. "There is nothing to listen for. Not anymore."

The Billionaire's Deaf Bride

The Billionaire's Deaf Bride

Aria Vale had learned, over the years, that silence was not the same as emptiness. People who had never lost their hearing always assumed the two were related. They were not. Silence had texture. It had dimensions that shifted depending on the hour, the season, the quality of light coming through a window. On certain mornings, when the city outside her apartment moved in that slow, amber way of early autumn, silence felt almost like a companion — familiar, unhurried, asking nothing of her.

Dead Weight

Dead Weight

Quiet is not the same as peace. Maya knows this because the base is quiet in at least twelve different unhealthy ways. There is the quiet of people pretending not to talk about her. The quiet of people very much talking about her behind water tanks, curtain walls, laundry lines, and one suspiciously philosophical stack of bean crates. And then there is the quiet Eli Carrasco carries with him. That one is different. That one does not push. Which is, frankly, rude.

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

The full attention to the ordinary day in the form of the sustained exact prose. Ernest watched this across the summer — not the watching of someone monitoring the progress, but the watching of someone who was inside the same accumulation and could see the quality of the writing by the quality of the silence the writing produced. The fourth book's silence was the deepest silence of any of the books. Not the sustained effort of difficulty — the sustained attention of someone doing the most precise thing they had learned to do, at the pace the precision required.
