“I know, I know. I want it over with too. Believe me, I can’t wait to kill him.”
My blood froze.
“I’ve waited long enough,” Rafael continued. “This time, no mistakes. The moment the ceremony is done, the moment the cameras are off… he disappears. Quietly. Permanently.”
He laughed again, softer now. “God, he’s so trusting. You should’ve seen him this morning, begging me to slow down. Baby, slow down,” he mocked with a syrupy tone. “He really thinks I care.”
