Meanwhile Hazel pouted watching the beautiful rain with her wide doe eyes. How much she wanted to jump in the rain and laugh her worries away. But alas! She couldn’t get herself to forget about the warning Cyrus gave her. Without his permission she can’t go out and just to be in rain she didn’t want to hear his voice.

Frustration and disappointment etched deep lines on my forehead as I gazed up at the darkening sky, ominous clouds gathering overhead. "It can't rain now," I muttered to myself, my voice filled with exasperation. "Not when I'm so close." The raindrops began to fall, softly at first, but steadily growing in intensity. The rain was so heavy and within minutes wide torrents of rainwater were surging along the gutters-turbid and brown from a whole summer's dirt being washed off the streets in one go.

I took a deep breath and rubbed my forehead. A drop fell on my cheek and I looked up. It had started drizzling. Dark clouds huddled together as I walked back home in the slow rain. I love the rain. It’s not gloomy or depressing at all. It’s fun. I believe rain can get you on with whatever mood or state you’re in. If you’re happy you go play in the rain, jump in water puddles and dance. If you’re sad, you listen to songs and look out and cry. If you’re angry you just stand in the rain and the water cools you off. It works with me.

The rain was pouring, like it was punishing everyone in this place. “Rain...” she whispered. “Do you think rain makes everyone sad?”
