Maybe our connection wasn’t meant to be, so no matter how we were brought together we still didn’t end up together. A few moments later, I’d found the books I wanted to buy. I placed them in my arms, then walked over to Kevin, who was sitting on the reading sofa. This bookstore has a tiny reading room with only two reading sofas separated by a small round table. A reading lamp stands beside each sofa. On the table sits a small flowerpot serving as decoration. The reading room floor is carpeted, and next to my sofa are two vending machines.

"Oh, my God ...!" Reflexively, I was startled when I turned the corner. Rena was right beside me and raised her palm to prevent our faces from colliding. "Get lost!" Rena scowled, purring her breath in my face after lowering her hand barrier. Well, she was the one who appeared surprised. I didn't know. Finished with the new row of books arranged on the shelf, I moved on to washing the tableware in the sink. Keeping myself busy on a daily basis was enough to occupy my time during this time aside from my studies and internship.

I was drafting out a chapter for my upcoming book with my feet tucked under my hips, on the comfy bean bag. The evening was quiet, yet enchanting, as I took some sips from the coffee mug resting beside me on the table. My glasses were hanging a little low on my nose as I continued pressing the keys on my laptop, earning little clicking sounds.

It was a bargain. I’m setting up an area in the lounge space by one of the arched windows as my reading nook. Dad has bought me a large fluffy, pale pink bean bag for the corner and Atlas has given me vouchers for Button’s shops on the hight street where I have my eye on a beautiful mahogany, square table. There’s a matching bookcase I want to get for all my books. Only, I do have a lot of books so I may need to put a bookcase or some shelving up in the bedroom too.

I slump back in my chair with a groan and rub my eyes. My elbow knocks a scroll off the table. It’s not nearly as large as one of the massive ledgers, but not small. There’s an X-beam rack of them on the wall not covered by ledgers, so I scoop it up to put it back there. Even if I don’t find anything, I can at least not get caught looking.
