Raven leaned back, crossed his legs, and took a sip from his glass. Azzmi couldn’t believe he’d messed with her like that. With a huff, she looked out the window, watching as the various buildings came into view as they moved along the road. She even spotted some billboards of Raven. Most of them were for businesses he’d already established, but one in particular caught her attention, one for a men’s cologne that had yet to be launched. Raven was the face of the brand, and as the billboard passed by, Azzmi couldn’t help but turn her head to keep looking at it.

Amd then I noticed it. The locket that hung loosely around Raven’s neck. It was the exact same design as mine. The one I had was given to me by my mom with both our pictures in it. I had worn it everyday since she died, and only ever taking it off when I needed to go see Eldric—because to him the fact that I still carried it was childish. Why did Raven have the exact same design? Where could she have gotten it? Curiosity stirred despite myself. What pictures were inside her locket?
