I nodded and cautiously opened the box, hoping they wouldn't give me something inappropriate to open in public. I gasped as I looked inside. Inside was a rose gold charm bracelet. Carefully picking it up, I looked at the charms. The clasp had a heart with an infinity symbol, the symbol for polyamory, with the word Love in script above the heart and Forever under it. It had four letter charms, each of our initials.

Always longer. I scream as the crack echoes, pain ripping through me when I force my nose back into place. My eyes fall on the black box from yesterday—the cause of all this. Inside rests a necklace: a thin golden chain, a raven in flight, clutching a dangling purple gem shaped like a tear. Raphael’s gift. I want to be angry, but I’m not. It’s beautiful. More than that, it feels like me. Ravens have always haunted my life, even though I dislike them. He didn’t send this just to send something. He thought about it.

“So, just wearing these makes it impossible for them to find me? No one will pull me into the Dream Realm. Or track me? Is that right? Are you sure?” Raven asked. Before either of us spoke again, the flutter of wings drew our attention. A raven landed atop the palace wall. White. Every feather gleamed against the dark stone. Around its neck hung a narrow silver tube. The bird looked straight at me, utterly still, then dipped its head. The tube slipped free and landed in the dirt between us. Rowan frowned. "That's new." I bent to retrieve it. The wax seal stopped me cold. It wasn't the Crimson Dragon emblem. A silver wolf coiled around a dragon. I'd seen that symbol only once before.

Finally, The Nomad’s a red banner with a sailing ship surrounded by all the points of a compass. Safe for true north, signifying they belong not to one but all.

I scoffed after reading his message. Sammy is literally afraid of the people he hasn't seen yet. I've seen them and I'm ready to keep pursuing to expose them. I know their dangerous. But they definitely have a weak spot don't they? I looked at the files carefully. A red line was use to rule over the name of the society. 'The darkling bird society.' I read the name out. Darkling bird? So that's what the black raven symbolizes. I always knew ravens had a dark heart.

That I still existed outside of pain and tribulation. I don't know how long I sat there, but a faint sound startled me, a flutter of wings. I looked up and saw a raven landing on the edge of the fountain. Its black eyes stared into mine with almost a touch of intelligence. Then it croaked once and flew away, dropping a small silver chain with a symbol only I and Mira would recognize. The half-moon of our family crest. My breath caught. She felt it, oh goddess, she felt it. I leaped out for joy as I had nothing left to be ashamed of.

Their cuts gleamed under the buzzing light, the fang emblem stitched across every back like a threat. And tonight, all eyes were locked on Raven. She stood near the back wall, not chained, not gagged, but stripped of the easy air she once carried when rolling with the gang. Now suspicion clung to her like a second skin.
