At the rushed pace, Rex and his wolves got to the Council Grounds a full day before the rest of the packs, or so they thought. Lady Kitsune, a Council wolf, was waiting for their arrival, greeted them warmly, and showed them where they would be staying for the duration of the Gathering. Wanting to speak with Kitsune alone, Rex ushered Makai and his wolves to go in the house and relax. Taking the hint, Makai ushered the wolves away.

Cautiously scanning the area for any threats instinctively, I spot an old buck walking in the meadow beyond the river. His head is down, and he doesn’t seem to be moving to well, so I make my way to him to see if I can help. ” For a heartbeat, there was silence. Then, one by one, the warriors lifted their heads and howled. The sound rolled through the trees—loud, proud, full of joy. It was a howl of victory, of life, of the birth of the Alpha’s children. Even those still catching their breath joined in, acknowledging the arrival of the future of the pack. Ravena’s eyes widened, shock and happiness crashing into her all at once. ”I have nephews!” she exclaimed through the link, her voice bright with disbelief and joy.

“Why should Luna ride a horse? Those beasts are wild and unpredictable. What if she gets hurt? And their hide is tough and coarse, how could that possibly compare to the softness of a wolf’s back?” Nearby, a few Blood Moon warriors exchanged awkward glances. They whispered among themselves, baffled by the Ivyshade’s logic. Why choose a leader so delicate she couldn’t walk or even ride a horse? Did they pick her just because she was beautiful? Then, before anyone could say more, Raven silently removed his own armor. The sound of metal hitting the forest floor rang deep and low. His body began to shift. Silvery-gray fur spread across his frame as his muscles expanded into that of an ancient mo

Whole villages apparently had that ability and when danger presented itself they shifted into their wolf shape, gathered as a pack and disappeared. The first thing that caught her attention was the extensive family chart at the very beginning of the book. Labeled Pack Diagram, it listed all the human form names of what she assumed was an entire pack. What on earth could this have to do with her grandparents? Did they study this? Surely they weren't - No. She gave herself a mental slap. That was just too wacky to even contemplate. She was letting her imagination run away with her. The legends fascinated her from the moment she opened the volume, especially those chapters about werewolf shifte

Raven then said, and I nodded my head to him, letting him know that I understood, as I held back the moon’s power inside of me, now itching to be set free. Raven at that moment shifted into his wolf, raising his head to the heavens, as he let out the warning howl to our warriors. As his howl rang out, our frontlines of defense retreated, stunning the heir’s army into thinking that they indeed were retreating from them, but little did they know what was coming in their direction.

Raven observed carefully, counting as he tried to put a face to the ones supporting him and the ones following Iron. Twenty-one to fifteen. He still had a slight advantage over Iron. "All wolves, leave and return to pack! Wait for me and I WILL return from the peace talk with the leader of the rogues!" Raven shouted at the wolves, and soon some of them started to move, then the ones loyal to Iron had to because it got too obvious that they were disobeying their Alpha. Iron was the last one to leave, and not before his vicious eyes locked Knight and Raven for long.
