"Oh," I said, letting my face fall into a mask of sudden, solemn disappointment. "I'm a strict vegan, Greg. I'm so sorry."
The colour drained instantly from his face. His hazel eyes widened in absolute panic. "Oh, damn it. I am such an idiot. I should have asked! I can...I can make you some toast? Or maybe a salad? Does Mari have any tofu?"
