Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed
The bar stood right in the middle of it all, lit up and pretending to be completely normal.
It wasn't.
The sign outside flickered and died on repeat, half-broken. Some drunk guy was passed out by the door, effectively guarding it with his loud snores. Music pulsed from inside, too loud, too alive for a place hiding a basement full of high-level criminals.
Dax smoothly pulled the car into a narrow, shadowed corner and cut the engine. “Alright,” he said, his voice dropping to a low, intense rumble. “I hope we're not going to die. And for God’s sake, don't create another mistake.”
