The sunlight seeped in slowly through the linen curtains—warm, golden, and languid. It bathed everything in warm, forgiving hues. Lily woke up for the first time in a long time without the weight of nightmares. No jolts. No screams muffled in her throat. Just breath. Steady. Real.

Inside the bathroom drawer lay a package of sanitary pads that clearly didn’t belong to me. Outside the door, I heard Tamara’s voice on the phone. "Mr. Shepherd," she said sweetly, "I got my period at the hospital, but I can’t find the special brand for younger girls. There’s a pack left in your bathroom. Could you bring it to me?" Henry stepped into the bathroom, only to catch me pulling open the drawer. His gaze flickered with guilt before he quickly walked away.

“I have no idea, son.” I put the box on my bed together with the letter. I sat down beside it. I felt angry. My mother left me an ugly box and a letter. I have no idea what language it is. I got frustrated. I decided to just take a bath to cool down and think. When I got out of the bathroom, I noticed a shimmering glow underneath the box. I quickly grabbed it. I analyzed the glow. I picked up the letter and read the gibberish the best I could.

I murmured. That gave me an idea. I fumbled through my bag and found the keychain flashlight, which wasn't going to be helpful, but the other side was a laser pointer. I pointed it towards a threshold in a mirror. As the light left the flashlight, the red beam became visible. It wasn't just a spot like in our world, instead, it was a path of light. "Whoa," I whispered. Then louder, I asked, "Can you see that?" Remi's image looked left and right following the red beam in front of him. "Yes! Let me follow it."

The pillows are amazing too, heavenly, even. With a heavy sigh, I push the comforter off my tired body and swing my feet off the bed slowly. Not far from the bed is a light switch, so I take a few steady steps toward it and flick it on. The the light is so bright, I'm blinded for a couple moments, but when I can actually bare the light, I notice a door a few feet away. I hurry over to it with my hand supporting the small baby bump I have and jiggle the knob desperately. Locked, of course.

- Alice whispered from behind her back. Selene looked at the plant, her clasped hands raised over it. Then she closed her eyes and focused on the task. Selene felt a shiver flow from her shoulders to the outstretched hands and flow out. She opened her eyes and saw the green light flowing to the plant, which under its influence began to grow in the eyes. - Enough for now.- Rita whispered after a few minutes. Selene lowered her hands, the green light disappeared, and at the same moment the plant stopped growing.

Atticus narrowed his eyes and studied me. "What is Lugh light?" I asked curiously. Sawyer chuckled, "Lugh is the Irish God of light and that flash you do is called Lugh light. It is a very rare gift…" "And something that your mother has given you because I can not do it," Atticus said while rubbing his chin in thought.
