At the lobby, the receptionist called our attention when she handed us leaflets. “What’s this?” Jo and I read what was written on the leaflet. “The annual contest?” She gasped, but there was excitement in her voice. “What’s that?” I asked, intrigued. Jo explained that the annual contest was the company’s way of discovering new talent. We give aspiring candidates a chance to showcase their work. It can be an investigative news story, a feature story, or a comprehensive continuing story. We also give the best photographer award during this contest.” “And?” I prodded.

’ The New World Emperor nodded at Florian beside him with that thought in mind. Florian immediately understood him and took a step forward before loudly saying, “Everyone, today’s literary competition preliminary round is to write an essay with any topic of your choice. It could be anything—Astronomy, Geography, Chess, Music, Calligraphy, Art, Ranking Formations, or even World Governance. Just write what you’re good at!”

My readers wanted new content every single day and if they didn’t get it, then I knew they wouldn’t stick around for long. Up to this point, I had limited my blog posts to be about bad dates involving friends, family or personal experience; basically anything that I could verify to some degree. But without me having regular bad dates, I just didn't have the content I needed to keep the website running smoothly. I needed more. That was when an idea flashed into my mind. What if I allowed readers to submit their stories to me? They could tell me all about their bad dates and I could post the best “worst” dates from them. It’ll be like a contest.
