They were silent for a few minutes and did not talk. "Am I boring?" Rye suddenly asked Khali turned to him. "Of course not. Why did you come up with that?" "I just thought about it." Rye just said. Khali wasn't saying anything; she averted her eyes from Rye. She loses control of her ability. She could read Rye's thoughts; it was as though her thoughts were breaking her heart. Khali's tears came out of thin air.

“Start over. Page one.” “What?” I practically shrieked. “I’ve been reading this same page for hours! You can’t make me start over just because I got one question wrong!” “You didn’t get one question wrong,” Knox corrected gently. “You’ve gotten fifteen questions wrong. Which means you haven’t actually learned the material. Reading isn’t the same as understanding, Dahlia. You need to comprehend what you’re reading, not just let your eyes pass over the words.” I wanted to cry. Or throw the textbook at his head. Maybe both.

[I've overpowered the host enough. Get to work!] As I thought of destroying the book, I became furious, but I calmed down immediately. Relax, it's nothing to worry about. There is no free meal available. I got a gist of how the book works, the reader moves onto the next page once they have understood 100% of that page.

Xander even dropped his fork in shock. “You read?” If Xander’s eyes could pop out of their sockets at that moment, I believe that they would have rolled away already. “Of course, I do. What’s with that reaction?” I frown at him. “You don’t even read your textbook.” “Has anyone ever told you that textbooks and novels are not the same thing?” Since it’s Xander, I can imagine that he reads textbooks like he’s reading novels. What a complete nerd. “Well, since you’re not reading now, did you manage to read my text?” Romeo interjects himself into my and Xander's argument. “It’s kind of about work.”
