“No promises.” “That’s what I thought. Your fifteen minutes are up.” she said. “Give me a few minutes.” I said as Lydia shook her head and walked away. I stared at my phone for a few seconds, then slowly I picked it up again. “Just one more chapter.” That was what I told myself. I scrolled and tapped. That was when the next chapter opened. And I started reading. At first, it felt like the others but then, it became more intense. My brows pulled together slightly as I read faster.

There's no distraction to ease my unresolved guilt and nerves. My nails subconsciously begin to pick at the edges of the book spine in my hands. I've been re-reading the same chapter for what feels like forever. My eyes and brain just won't seem to cooperate today. I know I'm reading the words but nothing is translating back - it's frustrating to say the least.

“Can’t have a notebook without a pen.” “Will you read a chapter to me?” Caitlyn asked. “Before you go to see the others?” “Of course,” Chloe said, reaching for the book. “Now lie back and get comfortable.” Chloe cleared her throat dramatically and then opened the cover of the book. “Harriet the Spy. Chapter one. ‘Harriet was trying to explain to Sport how to play Town.’”

Perfect. As I flipped through the chapters, the story heated up fast. The protagonist, a shy librarian much like me, was cornered in the stacks by a dominant stranger. His hands roamed her body without mercy, fingers teasing her nipples until they ached, then dipping lower to claim her wetness. I shifted on the couch, feeling that familiar tingle between my legs. God, why did these books always get me so worked up? My thighs pressed together instinctively, seeking friction.

“For you.” I could hardly believe it. Flipping through the composition book, I could make out pages upon pages filled with neat handwriting, what looked like ten chapters worth of reading, and even… a couple of smutty scenes. My cheeks warmed as I flipped to a random page and read something about the dragon turning into a man, and…

"Just another chapter. That's the tittle of Peach's last maestra. And you are the protagonist in it. The two of you. You never came out of your shell. That is why I just give it to you right now. What a timing right? I hope soon you'll get better Sevastian..." With Sevastian's shaky hand, he flip the pages one by one.
