She leaves, closing the door softly behind her, and I rush out, hallway empty, down stairs quiet, to the garage. The bike starts easy, engine rumbling familiar under me as I pull out gates, waving off a guard asking where, mumbling a quick errand. The trail east winds through trees, dirt path bumpy, but I know it from maps Reign showed me once. Wind whips hair loose from helmet, face stinging from speed, but worry pushes me faster, thinking Gabe is bleeding somewhere, needing me now.
