Near the back exit, Travis stopped. There was a small, jagged piece of black fabric caught on a rusted nail near the doorframe. It was a strip from Storm’s tactical undershirt. A few feet further, in the dirt outside the door, Travis saw a shallow groove, a deliberate marking made by a dragging boot.
"He’s leaving us a breadcrumb trail," Travis said, his voice a low growl. "He’s conscious."
"Alpha, look," one of the warriors pointed toward the road.
