My eyes slowly moved to spot the velvet-covered book and something written on it with golden ink that shined in the light coming through the open window. Despite thinking to ignore it at first, I found myself walking towards it a few moments later. Something about leaving this book without looking through it did not feel right to me, it just made me feel some sort of anxiousness I was not ready to deal with. I walked closer to the book and picked it up. On the blood-red colored cover of the book, there remained written in bold golden letters— Predators. Some were old while others looked rather new. Toward the end of the shelf, her eyes caught a small, thin book almost hidden behind the rows of thicker textbooks. It was shoved deep into the shelf like they never wanted the book to be seen by anyone. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. Something about the way the book was pushed back felt odd to her. She reached for the book that had a deep wine-red cover. The title was written in silver letters. “Her Erotic Fantasy” Clarissa blinked in surprise,she hadn’t expected that. Her lips parted slightly. She looked around the library to see if anyone was watching.

But hope, like magic, has a price, and I am increasingly aware of that price. The book itself is a work of macabre art. The cover, made of dark leather that almost appears black, pulses with a life of its own, as if it were breathing. The leather is stained with deep shades of red, almost as though it has been soaked in blood over the centuries, giving it a sinister and throbbing appearance. Along the edges of the cover, aged silver chains are interwoven in complex patterns, depicting ancient runes and seals of protection, symbols only an enchantress could decipher. The title of the book is carved into the leather in rustic letters, subtly glinting with ruby, as though the words had been wri

It's fascinating, and I really want to know more about it all. "I'm sure you'd like it." She places the book on the table in front of me and I smile at it. It's not so big but has a lot of pages and the cover is really beautiful with a golden rose drawn standing beside another rose, a silver one, but instead of sepals, they have a fire burning below them, and they are both rooted in a deep blue sea. Captivating burning roses with their roots in a deep sea, how artistic. PSYCHICISM is written in a weird writing that looks more like a drawing and my smile widens even more. How did she know this is just what I wanted! She really does have book powers.

He turned the book to the first page;. …Strange. It was blank. So also the second and third pages. His brows crumpled as he persisted to turn the pages, only to meet the same thing. The book was blank. And the other strange part was the text written in red on the book cover, it was also missing. So also the author's name. Roman sat up on his bed in awe. He almost had a scare as he watched each letter of the book's name disappear from the book cover. This was insane.

While I might not know many words yet, I know enough that I can read the title of this book. “The Story of Carnelia the Great,” I mumble to myself. Opening the book to the first page I see the name “Primus” scrawled in an uneven hand on the cover. So this was his as a child. I smile, thinking of what a little monster he must have been like as I turn to the title page. “CARNELIA” is hand-lettered in bold calligraphy. Underneath, is the image of a gold and red dragon, her body curled in the sky, replacing the sun.

It was no ordinary book and neither was it meant for ordinary people. ‘’I need to get something for myself’’ Mara says walking onto the shelf hidden at the far end of the room. It is composed of books from history to spell casting and some hybrid notifications. She was not interested in any of the books, not until the red cover book fell to the ground catching her attention. ‘’Ways to make it work’’ the title read. Mara had no idea of what the book was about; those words were all it had and the back was completely plain and painted red.

I will be her best friend for the rest of my life, even if we are mates too. ‘I want her’ Midnight says in my mind, and I laugh at the growl in his voice. ‘I know man. So, do I. I nestle my face in Rens pillows further and let myself be engulfed in the smell that is calming my every nerve.

But something about that book caught my eye. It wasn’t like the others. The cover was deep red—so dark it looked almost like dried blood in the dim light. The edges were lined with gold that had faded with age. I frowned and bent down to pick it up. It felt heavier than it looked. When I turned it over, I noticed something strange.
