My gaze trails across the shelves… until one in particular catches my attention. My feet carry me toward a shelf tucked into the far left corner of the lowest level. I don’t know why, but something about it pulls me in like an invisible thread guiding my steps. The closer I get, the stronger the sensation grows. The hairs on my arms rise. Mystical wolves.That’s what the plaque above the shelf reads, written in old silver script. I scan the spines of the books.Most are worn, dusty, untouched for years. One of them catches my eye. A thick, royal blue book with no title. Just a crescent white moon etched in the center of the cover.

“I’m a nobody. I doubt if we could sell two hundred tickets, let alone eight thousand.” “No, I think Lori is right.” I snapped my head at Olive. “You’re kidding, right? This is impossible.” I picked up the sample poster. It was exactly how I imagined. A royal blue in gold and silver letters. The design was similar to the Midnight book cover, only the broken crown had changed to a tiara. “Is this a clue?” “Yes. Do you wanna change it?” “No.” I took a seat and picked up the ticket samples. “I love it, but it can also send a misleading hint to the upcoming book, but keep it.”

“But someone online recommended a dark romance book and I really want to check it out.” My eyes scanned the shelves, my gaze snagging on a particularly striking cover. It was dark, almost black, with the title splashed across it in stark blood-red letters. “Dark Temptation,” I read aloud, picking up the book. “Is this it?” Pauline leaned in, narrowing her gaze at the cover. “Huh. I’ve seen that one online. It’s pretty popular, actually.” She paused, then shook her head. “But no. I couldn’t read that.”

It was no ordinary book and neither was it meant for ordinary people. ‘’I need to get something for myself’’ Mara says walking onto the shelf hidden at the far end of the room. It is composed of books from history to spell casting and some hybrid notifications. She was not interested in any of the books, not until the red cover book fell to the ground catching her attention. ‘’Ways to make it work’’ the title read. Mara had no idea of what the book was about; those words were all it had and the back was completely plain and painted red.

“Hello.” “....” Silence. There’s no answer from across the phone. “Yeobseyo.” “....” Suddenly the caller hung up. Tiara just fell silent while staring at the phone screen. The carving of roses with minimalist style on the cover looks real. Tiara’s never seen a book cover like this before. She tried to open the book, but it couldn’t open.

I sat the orange book down thinking about going on a search of my own to see if this place was holding back on me when my eyes caught the giant red book in the middle of the table I didn't even here it land on the table. This red book just like the others didn't have any markings on the cover. It was covered in thick red scales that had a faint smudge of black on the tips of each as I ran my hand over the scales my hand began to tingle. I stood up watching as if my hand was the match that set off the sparks around all the letters that appeared in large bright gold calligraphy "Pendragon" I had to stand up from my seated position to even open the large cover of the book when I opened it more

It had a black thick leather cover and a golden seal on its top. “The Crow.” Lelia said, and a book with a bright red cover appeared in her palms. She turned to a page where the history and image of the crow was shown. Janeka got her mind back to why they were here and what they were going to defeat. “I see your mind is caught up with the black book.” Lelia said, chewing her lips. “That's what we want, isn't it?” Janeka said.

It would’ve been rare if I didn’t find something I liked. This time, it was a thick spiral A5 notebook. The hard cover was an abstract motif in blues, with a discreet white crescent in the upper right corner and a little white star by it. The pages had the lines in navy blue, and the crescent and the star outlined in light blue in every upper right corner. It was love at first sight. It was calling my name like a siren, and I refused to ignore it.
