Novel & Cerita Rejected Mate: The Lycan King's Claim

“Let me introduce you to King Alaric Anjou the Third. The King of all humans, werewolves, and magical creatures alike.” I nodded slowly, tracing the lines of the drawing. He looked so much like Lucien it made my skin crawl. “So he’s of French stock, too?” I asked, trying to keep my voice casual while admiring the picture. “Is that all you have to say?” Vivienne asked, her tone dripping with disappointment. “What did you want me to say?” I shot back. “I don't know—show that you're impressed! I just found out that the entity inside of you slept with the Lycan King himself. I cracked the code, Seraphina!” She threw her hands up in the air as if she had just won a marathon.

If blaming the goddess for this particular sore in her thumb was the solution, she would have stood atop her roof and yelled all sorts of insults at her, possibly that could change her mind. Unfortunately, it was well-known for centuries that fated mates had two options; they could either get married or reject the mate bond. In her case, she was the one who despised the bond so much that she was willing to bear the pain of initiating the rejection process. It's just a pity that she failed. Lycan king Kyle's personality preceded him; He was by far the most ruthless ruler in all the realm of the paranormal. And if she could dare say, he was probably the strongest too, despite his age.

“Dominic, please listen to me. When he found out we were mates, he was disgusted. He rejected the bond immediately. He has no right to claim me. I am your mate now. The blood oath we took made me yours." Dominic slowly turned his head back to look at me. The look on his face wasn't angry anymore. It was worse. It was completely distant and cold. "Is that why you were clinging to me?" he asked. "Because I am the Lycan King? Because my crown is the only thing keeping you out of a cage?" The words felt like a slap to my face. I felt my breath hitch, my heart shattering into a million pieces. "What... what are you saying?"

LUCIUS I was in my chamber when a knock sounded on my door. "Come in," I permitted. A small, nervous man with shaky hands and a habit of never looking me in the eyes walked in. He bowed quickly. “My king, I have news.” I tilted my head. “Speak.” His eyes darted from the ground to my face. “It’s about Lycan Kael. I heard he's found his mate.” I didn't seem surprised because we all know he had this one lady by his side almost all the time. "That's good for him," I casually said, not finding the information interesting.

He unrolled the scroll and read aloud, his voice flat "To the esteemed Council of Frost Bane and the Moonspire Alliance, It has come to my attention that the Lycan King has grown… compromised. Since the arrival of the breeder Morwenna Ashbourne, his decisions have grown violent, and unbefitting the throne. I fear she has ensnared him with manipulation—or worse. If allowed to continue, she will become the downfall of the pack. She must be removed. For the good of the realm. —Liora Ashbourne. The scroll crackled as he clenched it tighter in his fist. His golden eyes were filled with anger —not the wild rage he’d shown when he ran a blade through Lord Darrow, but something colder. Deeper an

“This confirms you’re not from around here and not even one of us because everyone knows who I am.” “I am Alpha and the Lycan King of this territory, Damon Valerius. And despite being all that and not knowing who you are, my wolf howls for you, Celeste Ravaryn. The goddess tests me. Maybe she sent you to punish me for all my sins, but before I die by your hands, I need to know who had scarred you and tormented your very existence.” As I said nothing, Damon continued. Maybe he didn’t want me to say anything in the first place. “I shall wait until you’re comfortable enough to tell me. I don’t mind doing that for eternity. No one is allowed to mess with what’s mine.”

I felt a strange feeling of need and despair, as if I needed something to calm my nerves. Tristan poured another drink, his fingers brushing mine as he offered. "So, Veronica, who is this guy that's giving you so much trouble?" I took a sip and let the alcohol burn my throat before answering. "These are the Lycan Kings, Lucas and Simon." Tristan's eyebrows furrowed. "Ah, twins. They have a good reputation. And you alone." I nodded, feeling the warmth of the drink spread through me. "Yes. I don't think I want to bring it."

His gaze is on me, the little pup is strong, but I can still tear him to shreds without breaking a sweat. "You are making claims on my mate, your future Queen," "She was given to me first!" He says, losing his cool. "And you rejected her, and she was given to me, me," I reminded him of the brutal truth. Regret flickers in his eyes, and I see his wolf resurface, but my Lycan does too, making him involuntary submit to me.

Symphony said as she felt the bond between them grow stronger with every syllable she spoke. She felt the air around them swirl. She saw Alexanders eyes glow red as Dax acknowledged Starlett as his mate and future queen. She waited for Alexander to accept their mate bond, nervously. “I, Alexander David Silverstone king of Lycans, accept you Symphony Marie Greywood, as my mate and future queen of the Lycans.” Alexander said to her. She felt like time had stopped. Starlett had accepted Dax as her mate.

“So, if its okay with you… do you want to share why you’re here?” Shahila cleared her throat. Will she admit what she really done? “It’s only a misunderstanding. There has been an attack and the king thinks I’m involved. I’m not.” The woman nodded. “Is he your mate? You’re a Ruben. The Lycan king’s too fortunate to have you as a mate.” A pang of hurt clutched her heart. Reality hurts. “No. He’s claimed a Redmayne to be his mate.” “oh. A Redmayne.”
