Novel & Cerita Rejected Mate: The Lycan King's Claim

“So, if its okay with you… do you want to share why you’re here?” Shahila cleared her throat. Will she admit what she really done? “It’s only a misunderstanding. There has been an attack and the king thinks I’m involved. I’m not.” The woman nodded. “Is he your mate? You’re a Ruben. The Lycan king’s too fortunate to have you as a mate.” A pang of hurt clutched her heart. Reality hurts. “No. He’s claimed a Redmayne to be his mate.” “oh. A Redmayne.”

"And you are going to accept my rejection and forget about me, we can never be together! I am an Alpha King, I do not need a mate like you." I cried more as his words rolled off his tongue, "Stop your crying, it is fucking irritating!" He said and I sobbed. "You are going to leave after the rejection and never set foot within my territory again, mutt!" He warned, "Is that clear?" I nodded at him and watched him do what I feared the most. "I, Lycus Dardanos." He began, "Alpha King of the werewolf community, the next in command after the wolf's council and the Alpha of Blackmoon pack reject you Nyx E…"

I wanted to scream that I would do anything, endure any torment, if he just wouldn't sever the bond and abandon me to the dark. "And you are going to accept my rejection and completely forget I ever existed," Fredrick continued, his voice cold and hollow, completely detached from the agony he was causing. "We can never be together. I am the Lycan King. I do not need a weak, cursed mate like you." I buried my face in my hands, my body trembling so violently I could barely stand. "Stop your crying. It is fucking irritating," he snapped, his jaw tight. "You are going to leave my pack lands the moment the rejection is finalized, and you will never set foot within my territory again, omega wolf,"

Zaria was thrashing weakly against the tangled, sweat-soaked sheets, her dark hair plastered to her pale forehead, small whimpering gasps tearing from her dry lips as the herbal tincture tore the remaining nightshade venom from her blood. In two long strides, the Lycan King crossed the floor, dropping heavily to his knees beside the mattress. He wanted to hug her fragile body into his arms and male her f*e his warmth. He wanted to press himself into her badly just the way he has always imagined but he couldn't. He didn't want to scare her or do anything that would make her hate him at this point.

Pain shot through my skull, exploding behind my eyes. “I, Lycan King Abraham,” he growled, his breath hot against my face, “reject you, human slave, as my mate. And banned from accepting the rejection!”

But right now was not the time to be. I needed to level up if I wanted to get my revenge on behalf of Sumi. She was a part of why I was doing this—a constant reminder, a wound that had never truly closed. And I would not let fear ruin that. "Do you think I care about that mark, Bella? We are Lycans—we can choose our mates. Even if you are the king’s mate, he can reject you and still be able to find another lady whom he will make his mate, and they will be bound for life. A mate bond means nothing! You mean nothing!” She added in anger, her voice rising with every word, thick with bitterness that had clearly been building for years.

I saw the restraint in him, the way he held himself back from touching me, from pulling me closer. Would I fall for him if he reached out? Last night, I was sure I’d been screaming his name—not Damien’s. Maybe if the bond was gone, I could finally be free. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the words. But just before he spoke, I stopped him. “No one can know about this.” He nodded once, finally meeting my gaze again. The sadness in his eyes was unmistakable, heavy, unspoken. “I, Joel,” he said firmly, “next Alpha King of Theandor, son of Arial… reject you, Scarlet Underwood, as my mate.”

That fraction is enough. He moves forward to talk to her but I move in front of him. “You’re not welcome near her,” I say, low, calm, dangerous. My voice carries more weight than the words themselves, an unspoken warning. “She’s my mate,” Cain says sharply, stepping forward, wolf pressing beneath his skin. “No,” I reply, tone flat, deliberate. “She was. You lost that right the moment you rejected her.” His wolf growls, and I feel mine answer immediately, a low, protective rumble that vibrates through my chest. Cain falters, but the intent behind his eyes doesn’t waver.

Mine might have, once. “I love Soren,” she says, eyes fixed on mine. “I nearly died for him. I woke up an intruder in my own home, only to learn I’ve been replaced like last season’s offering. And now the goddess decides to pair me with the Alpha King like some sick joke?” I watch her quietly. She’s not afraid. Not even now. “I’m not looking for a mate,” she says. “I’m not looking for anything. Especially not you.” That stings more than I’ll admit.

I replied truthfully as I stopped dancing and stared back into his eyes. “Lucky to be what?” He asked with a glint of mischief in his eyes. “To be the Lycan King’s Rejected Mate,” I replied with a chuckle as I angled my head up and crushed my lips to his.
