A chill ran through me as he raised his glass in a silent acknowledgment.
The bartender placed my drink in front of me, and I downed it, feeling the warmth spread through me. I signaled for another, and the man from down the bar moved to the stool next to mine.
"You seem like you could use some company," he said, his voice smooth and inviting.
I arched an eyebrow, intrigued. "And you think you're the one to provide it?"
He laughed softly, a deep, resonant sound. "I’d be glad to try. I'm Remus, by the way."
