She fumbled with the wine as she poured me a glass and set it aside to breathe, her eyes wary. "You've had too much to drink tonight, Audrey. Connor's phone had been blowing up all day, all about the upcoming 10-year high school reunion. Half the texts were from all of his friends from high school, including his twin sister, Sarah, all talking about how excited they were for the reunion. Half of them haven't seen each other in years since they moved away for work or family mostly; the only time they see each other these days is through social media posts. What do you say?” Nina was expecting an answer from me while we headed inside the shop. My steps faltered. Just like that. My past was coming back. And not all parts of it were good. The air around me shifted subtly, but enough. “What?” I asked, my voice quieter than I intended. “How–How do you know?” I complained. “And how come I didn’t know?”

“I’m ready too.” Ryan returned late. He found us on the couch, fully dressed but close. He paused, then smiled. “You two are hopeless. But I’m happy for you. Really.” The three of us talked for a while about the reunion plans. No tension. No secrets. Just family moving forward. But as the night ended, my phone lit up with a message from a cousin: “Can’t wait for the reunion! Everyone wants to hear the full snowstorm story from you two. 😏”

I reached out my hands to her cheeks and then wiped away her tears. " I had forgiven you a long time ago, Steva. You don't need to apologize anymore as you had already earned my forgiveness. " I told her. " Really? " She asked. " Yeah. " I nodded my head with a smile hanging on my lips. " Oh my! Thank you so much, Stella! " She said hugging me again. My mom Came into the room later on followed by dad and Jack and we all had a Happy reunion.
